This is the first version of the second generation CompleteView VMS application which has been renamed to CompleteView 20/20. - CompleteView 20/20 consists of a newly introduced Management Server, an improved version of the Recording Server and a brand new unified Desktop Client application which is referred to as the Salient Security Platform. - Management Server - The Management Server is the center of CompleteView 20/20 allowing all components to collaborate with each other by sharing data and events. - All business, user and system data can be stored centrally and shared among all components. - Recording Server - The Recording Server provides all aspects of VMS functionalities and services related to streaming and storing video from cameras, providing live and playback services, managing users and groups in addition to controlling user access. - It also manages devices, schedules, events, notifications, triggers, NVRs, hardware I/O, storage and video retention. - Desktop Client (a.k.a Salient Security Platform) - Contains six consolidated modules offering admin and monitoring functionalities. These include three admin modules called Dashboard, Configure and Maintenance and three user modules called Live View, Alarm View and Playback. - The Dashboard module allows users to monitor all aspects of the system including Recording Servers, cameras, volumes, users, events, alarms, performance and health. Using the Dashboard module, privileged users also can search videos on volumes, search events and review live and recorded video. - The Configure module allows an admin to configure all aspects of the system including common settings, Recording Servers, cameras, volumes, schedules, events, alarms, motion detection, views and maps. Using the Configure module, an admin can also manage users, groups and control their access to cameras, views and maps. - The Maintenance module allows an admin to remotely view logs and server configurations from all accessible Recording Servers without having to access the remote systems. - The Live View module allows users to monitor views, cameras, maps, alarms, and events in real time. User can also run tours, monitor cameras based on maps, control PTZ and review video. Users can create custom views and maps and do QuickTrack recording. - The Alarm View module allows users to monitor alarm events in real time along with their live and recorded video. Cameras and events can be monitored as popups and on maps based on their geo location. - The Playback module allows users to search, play and export recorded videos using an interactive timeline and thumbnail images. They can also search associated events, alarms and other relevant data. All functionality related to single playback, multiple playback and thumbnail search are consolidated into this module. -------------------------- Configure Module Features ------------------------- Common Settings - Settings common to all Recording Servers such as configurable data related to ports, services, Active Directory and SMTP servers can be managed in one place and shared across servers. - Operational policies such as logging, PTZ, event logs, notifications and codecs options can also be configured and managed in one place and shared across servers. - Any technology integration data relevant to Recording Servers can be configured and shared across all servers. - All of the above settings can be independently changed for any Recording Server. Also, when a new Recording Server is added, it can be provisioned to use these common settings. Organizing Sites - Sites can be created based on various regional types such as Country, State, City or site type such as Building, Store or School at any depth level. - All Recording Servers, cameras, views and maps can be organized based on such hierarchical organization of sites. Managing Recording Servers - All data related to Recording Servers can be stored centrally and managed though the Configure module. Such data include the server's configuration, device data and user/group information. - Server configuration can be backed up or restored to previous versions, also servers can be moved to a new host along with their configuratin and device data. - While configuring servers, an admin can either also be in edit or monitoring mode to better suit their needs. - In edit mode, licenses and archived configurations can be managed. Also, basic information about the host system can be accessed. - In monitor mode, an admin can monitor performance, cameras, volumes, events and connections related to the Recording Server. Device Management - Recording Servers detect alarm, audio, video and disk devices and report them back to the Management Server. - This device information can be reviewed, searched and filtered per Recording Server under the Configure module. - Video devices can be filtered by connection type, driver or manufacturer. Also, an admin can manually add video devices that will be synchronized with the Management and Recording Servers. Volume Management - Volume related tasks such as Export, Archive, Backup and Delete operations can be executed on schedules. - Volume and database sync can be requested on demand from the user interface without requiring a configuration to be saved. Camera Management - One or more cameras can be added from the detected video devices. - Analog, IP and virtual cameras can be added and mixed in any order. - Added a driver to connect cameras from other Recording Servers. - Extracted the Supported Cameras List (SCL) so that camera drivers can be managed through an external file without having to rebuild the Recording Server binaries. - The SCL contains information on all supported camera manufacturers, models, camera drivers, events and PTZ drivers. - The camera configuration user interface was vastly improved by better grouping configuration content. - Added ability to see live video while configuring connection options and PTZ settings. - Added ability to configure locations for camera overlays. Added support for On-demand cameras to provide a low bandwidth solution - The Recording Server connects to cameras only if there is a live client connection request to save bandwidth. - Additional bandwidth saving can be done by throttling FPS, resolution and bitrate. - Limited playback, export and thumbnail search are available for on-demand cameras. Schedules - Added support to create shared schedules for camera recordings. - Added support to control home presets based on schedules. - Added ability to create schedules for all seven days of the week. - Added ability to create schedules based on multiple dates. Notifications - Consolidated all notification configuration so that a notification can be generated from any source/event. - Improved notification frequency by setting minimum interval and combining notifications between the interval into a single notification. Recording Servers Overview - An admin can manage all resources across the installation through a single interface, these resources include: - All Recording Servers - Cameras across servers - Volumes across servers - I/O across servers - Licenses across servers - An admin can also add, remove, search and filter resources across multiple servers from the overview page. - An admin can enable, disable and set attributes on resources across multiple servers from the overview page. View Management - Cameras can be previewed as list and thumbnails across servers while creating views. - Views can be associated with maps so that when a view is loaded, the corresponding map will also be loaded. - Views can be created as universal views or desktop views and corresponding templates are also provided. - Views can be automatically created from one or more Recording Servers based on site hierarchy using a user defined naming convention. - Universal views can be responsive and automatically adjusted to fit the available screen size. - Desktop views can support a mixture of cameras with any aspect ratio and custom layout. - Templates can be created using layout edit controls based on universal and desktop views. Newly created templates are saved in the Management Server and made available to other users automatically. Map Management - Supports both satellite and image based maps to provide flexible map management. - In satellite based maps, cameras and image based maps can be set with GPS co-ordinates for a given area or address. - In image based maps, cameras and other image based maps can be placed for monitoring. - Cameras from Recording Servers can previewed as list or thumbnails so that they can be easily identified. Views/Maps Overview - All views and maps can be accessed, searched and filtered using overview pages. - Views can be searched, filtered and attributes related to tour, FPS, quality and enablement can be set. - Maps can be searched, filtered, enabled or disabled from a single overview page. - GPS co-ordinates of all cameras and maps can be easily reviewed by co-ordinates or location. - Co-ordinates for any camera from any server can be easily set from a single interface. Centralized User Management - Users and groups are centrally managed in Management Server and shared across all Recording Servers and Clients. - Users can access their servers, cameras, views and maps from any device or client without having to create local accounts or client configurations. - VMS and Active Directory based users and groups are supported through an easy to use interface under a single module. - All users and groups can be reviewed, filtered, searched and modified from a single overview page. - Users and groups can be quickly added, removed, enabled or disabled from an overview page.
