Product Security Program

Product Security Program Plan Abstract

The Salient Product Security Program Plan (PSP) seeks to engender product assurance through the identification of, response to, and resolution of potential security vulnerabilities in our suite of security applications.

The PSP is implemented through adherence to Salient’s Vulnerability Response and Vulnerability Handling Policies. Both policies seek to apply the strategies and best practices described in the Video Surveillance Systems Hardening Guide.

Hardening Guide

This document provides guidance for system end users, system integrators, and security design consultants about establishing a sensible cyber security profile for their deployed Salient Systems security video management system products. Cyber security, also known as computer and network security or IT security, is defined as “the protection of computer systems from theft and damage to their hardware, software or information, as well as from disruption or misdirection of the services they provide.”

Vulnerability Response Policy

To respond to product security vulnerabilities, Salient Systems has created a Vulnerability Response Policy (“Policy”). This Policy will be used as guidance for tracking, categorizing and responding to security vulnerabilities.

Salient endeavors to develop and release reliable and secure products. However, Salient recognizes there may be rare occasions where an unintended vulnerability is discovered after the release of a product. Salient does not guarantee that all security vulnerabilities will be detected and/or remedied, but all discovered vulnerabilities will be evaluated and addressed appropriately.
